Where Flowers Dream
Each summer since 2011, when my daughter began grad school here, I’ve returned to Boston—and every year, the hydrangeas greet me like old friends. This impressionistic and abstract floral was inspired by their soft beauty and joyful presence.
In this piece, I wove together a palette drawn from both memory and modern design—rich earth tones like butter yellow, warm chocolate, and burgundy meet vibrant jewel tones of deep blue, green, and red. These colors, now trending in home decor, add a sense of warmth, depth, and movement to the painting.
Boston Blooms is more than a floral—it’s a moment, a feeling, a reflection of summers well spent.
