Cobalt Divide
This portrait presents a young man rendered half in light and half in shadow, creating a clear division across the face. The composition is anchored by cobalt blue glasses, which stand out against the restrained tones of skin and background.
Light strikes the frames and lenses, casting soft, directional shadows across the face and beneath the glasses. These shadows add depth and structure, allowing contrast and color to remain the primary focus rather than expression or gesture.
Cobalt Divide is an observational study of light, color, and shadow, centered on balance, restraint, and quiet presence.
